Skamel first came together to explore the music of Raspigaous, a French Ska and Dub outfit. Their set has now grown to feature mostly original compositions, all influenced by their love of jazz and inspired by the French Reggae scene. The band features members from European Young Jazz Artist 2011 winners Beats & Pieces Big Band and established Manchester group Riot Jazz Brass Band.
